You will find a trail head at the west end of the parking lot that leads to a beautiful walk through our mixed boreal and montane forest, leading to a 75 acre wetland, teeming with life. Depending on the time of year you may see a variety of plant, mushroom, and flower species, along with numerous waterfowl and songbirds. If you're really lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of moose, deer, fox, muskrat, or porcupine. We are very fortunate to have Sandhill Cranes that nest on the wetland each year which are often visible from our observation tower.
This is considered an easy trail that can last as little as 20 minutes or enjoyed for hours. Bring a lunch, binoculars, camera, and enthusiasm for a fantastic experience connecting with nature. You may also want to have bug repellent on hand, along with bells and bear spray. Please leave your pets at home, stay on the path, and clean up after yourself. Enjoy!
